1. Acceptance
By creating an account, using PennyRent, listing a property, setting up a rent schedule, making a payment, or requesting a payout or withdrawal, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
2. The service
PennyRent helps tenants split rent into smaller schedules and helps landlords track properties, rent progress, escrow records, payouts, and withdrawals. PennyRent is a technology platform and is not a landlord, tenant, property agent, bank, lender, legal adviser, or insurer.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate information, keep your login details secure, and use the correct account type. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may require identity, property, bank, or transaction verification before enabling some features.
4. Tenant responsibilities
Tenants are responsible for reviewing property details, confirming rental obligations, choosing appropriate payment schedules, making payments on time, and ensuring payment information is accurate. PennyRent does not guarantee that a landlord will approve an application or renew a tenancy.
5. Landlord responsibilities
Landlords are responsible for listing accurate property information, confirming authority to rent listed properties, approving tenants fairly, keeping bank details correct, and complying with rental, tax, consumer protection, and data protection obligations that apply to them.
6. Payments, schedules, and escrow records
Rent schedules may include daily, weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, tri-monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, yearly, or custom payment frequencies. Payment status, escrow balance, and payout records depend on confirmed transaction data. Failed, reversed, disputed, or refunded payments may affect rent progress and payout availability.
7. Fees, refunds, payouts, and withdrawals
PennyRent may charge transaction, payout, withdrawal, or service fees where disclosed. Refunds, payouts, and withdrawals may be delayed or declined due to verification checks, payment processor rules, incorrect bank details, disputes, suspected fraud, legal requirements, or technical issues.
8. Property content and user content
You must not upload false, unlawful, misleading, offensive, unsafe, or infringing content. You grant PennyRent permission to host and display submitted property images, listing details, profile information, and related content as needed to operate the service.
9. Prohibited use
You must not misuse the service, bypass security controls, submit fraudulent payment data, impersonate another person, scrape the platform, attack the API, interfere with other users, or use PennyRent for illegal property, payment, or financial activity.
10. Availability and changes
We may update, suspend, or discontinue features as the platform evolves. We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or compatibility with every device or network.
11. Limits of responsibility
To the extent allowed by law, PennyRent is not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, lost rent, property disputes, user misconduct, bank or payment processor delays, inaccurate user submissions, or events outside our reasonable control.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we believe a user has violated these terms, created risk for other users, submitted false information, triggered security concerns, or used the service unlawfully. You may stop using PennyRent at any time.
13. Governing law and contact
These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, unless a different mandatory law applies. Questions about these terms can be sent to support@pennyrent.app.
