PennyRent provides rent scheduling, property, payment, escrow, payout, and withdrawal tools for tenants and landlords. References to "PennyRent", "we", "us", and "our" mean the PennyRent service and website.
2. Information we collect
We may collect account information such as name, email address, phone number, password credentials, user type, profile image, address, city, state, and verification status.
For tenant verification and rent planning, we may collect optional identity, employment, and income details such as ID card type, ID number, ID image, employment status, and monthly income.
For landlords, we may collect company name, business address, bank name, account number, account name, property listings, rent amounts, property photos, amenities, and payout or withdrawal details.
We also collect transaction-related records such as rent schedules, payment methods, payment references, payment amounts, escrow balances, payout references, withdrawal references, dates, notes, and status updates.
3. How we use information
We use information to create and protect accounts, verify users, list properties, schedule rent, process payments, maintain escrow records, manage payouts and withdrawals, send service emails, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and improve the platform.
4. Payments and service providers
Payments, payouts, withdrawals, hosting, email delivery, fraud prevention, analytics, and support may require trusted third-party providers. These providers may process information only as needed to deliver their services to PennyRent.
We do not intentionally store full payment card details on our servers. Payment credentials should be handled by approved payment processors when payment gateway integrations are active.
5. Sharing information
We may share relevant information between tenants and landlords to support property applications, rent schedules, payment confirmation, dispute handling, and payout workflows. We may also share information when required by law, to enforce our terms, to protect users, or during a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
We do not sell personal information.
6. Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including password hashing, authentication controls, rate limiting, input validation, and secure middleware. No internet service is completely secure, so users should keep login credentials private and notify us about suspected account misuse.
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain accurate financial and operational records.
7. Your choices
You may request access, correction, update, or deletion of personal information where applicable. Some records, especially transaction, compliance, security, and accounting records, may need to be retained even after an account is closed.
8. Children
PennyRent is intended for adults who can enter rental and payment arrangements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Updates and contact
We may update this policy as the platform changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
